Change. It’s hard. But if there’s anything I’ve realised lately, it’s that change is necessary. It’s necessary to stretch and develop yourself, expand the boundaries in which you live your life, to secure your happiness. I went through a bit of a rough patch recently in one area of my life and I tentatively took steps to alter the course I was on. It paid off and now my future is completely different to how I envisaged it being.
Although changing the everyday was daunting, I did it without a moment’s hesitation. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. And then the doubt set in. But then I saw the quote above. It reminded me that if I hadn’t have made this change, I would have resented myself and the situation I was in. And that’s no way to live.
I’ve always been a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. If an opportunity comes your way, grab it with both hands. Live your life to the full. Make the most of it.
Life is a gift, and this week I was starkly reminded that we have no idea when our time is up. We all think we have years ahead of us to do the things we want to do and visit the places we want to go but the truth is, it could all be over in a flash.
The motto of this post is that you’ve got to take risks in life. Seize the day. Just go for it. Don’t. Look. Back. Unless it’s to reflect on how awesome your decision was.
